  • Chenab Lake

Chenab Lake is a beautiful lake situated on the Dang. Dang is a small village. To see Chenab Lake, you have to climb very high. visit this place, because you do not get a chance to see the beautiful view again. This is one of the best visiting places of Auli.

The artificial lake of Auli is an ancient lake, located at a very high altitude.

The Artificial lake Auli is one of the highest artificial lakes in the world.

The lake was built by the government to provide artificial snow on ski slopes during the months of low snowfall. The water of this lake is filled with snow guns laid along the ski slopes.

Skiing:-        Auli is known in every world for skiing. Skiing is the biggest point here.

Trekking:- This place is one of the best destinations for trekking. During your trek to  Kawani Bugyal, you will enjoy beautiful meadows and snowy peaks .

Best time to visit Auli Uttarakhand

Auli in Summer(April to June)

Auli is a high altitude place and mostly it remains cold in Auli. The best season to visit Auli is summer, so if you visit Auli in summer, Auli’s temperature in summer ranges from a high of 15-20 degrees to a low of 4-8 degrees.

In this season Auli temperature is quiet plesant.

If you are visiting Auli in the summer, there is a good chance that you will visit Badrinath and Henkund Sahib in Chamoli district because in winter (November-March) both pilgrimage sites are closed due to excessive snowfall.

The distance from Joshimath to Badrinath is 46 km and Joshimath to Henkund sahib is  15 km.

Auli in Winters(October to February)

If you want to enjoy the snow in Auli or practice some ice sports, you must come here during the winter season (December to mid-February).

In winters(December to February Mid), the temperature of Auli goes up to a maximum of 4-7 degrees and minimums sometimes to -8 degrees.

If you like skiing, Auli is a great place to ski in winter.

You have to take special care of yourself and your family in the cold.In winter, a sheet of snow is covered here.

Auli in monsoon(July to September)

July to September is the monsoon season, and this season is not the best time to visit Auli, the weather remains humid as the city receives a fair amount of rain.

It is more susceptible to landslides and roadblocks, which makes it dangerous for tourists. You won’t be able to walk anywhere and you will be disturbed.

So I will not suggest you visit Auli in the monsoon.

The temperature here is around 12-15 degrees in rainy season.

How to reach Auli 

You can easily reach Auli by air, Auli by rail and Auli by road.The closest airport to Auli is Jolly Grant Dehradun Airport and Rishikesh railway station is the nearest railway starion.

By Air

The nearest airport for Auli is  Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun, The distance of  Jolly Grant Airport(Dehradun) to Auli is 279 km. The various services are available from Dehradun airport to Joshimath. You can hire taxis or use Buses. From Joshimath, you can go to Auli by road or ropeway.

By Train

The nearest railway head for Auli is Haridwar Railway Station, which is about 193 km from the hill station.

Apart from Haridwar, you can also come to Rishikesh and Dehradun railway station.

These are the three railway station which is suitable for going to Auli and connects other cities of India to Uttarakhand.

By Bus

You can use state transport buses or private buses to reach Joshimath.You will get regular services for Joshimath. The distance from Auli to  Rishikesh is 253 k), the distance from Auli to Haridwar is 277 km, the distance from  Auli to Dehradun is 298 km and the distance from Auli to Delhi is 500 km. The distance of 12 km from Joshimath to Auli will be covered by bus or Taxi.
