According to the legend, sage Markandeya did penance to Lord Shiva and Lord Shiva appeared to him in the form of a Bagh. The sculptures depicted in the temple are from the seventh century to the 16th century.

Baijnath Temple


Baijnath Temple has located 3 km from Bageshwar. This temple is about 1000 years old and it is said about this temple that this temple was built in only one night.

Pindari Baba Temple


After reaching Pindari Glacier, you will see Pindari Baba Temple.

Pindari Baba is also known as Swami Dharmananda who is living alone in Pindari Glacier at a place called Zero Point which is situated about 27 km away from Khati village.

There is neither a person nor a village between Khati and Zero Point, there are two Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam guest houses at that place.

While going on this trek, keep in mind that you must keep warm clothes with you because Pindari Glacier has a very cold temperature.
