Mount Everest, situated in the highest peak of the Aravalli hill, located in the Sirohi district of Rajasthan state, is a very beautiful tourist destination. Mount Abu is situated at an altitude of 1220 meters above sea level.

Mount Abu does not have heat like other places in Rajasthan. Mount Abu is the only hill station in Rajasthan, which is only 170 km away from Udaipur.  

A number of historical buildings and temples are present here. Mount Abu is the main pilgrimage site of Hinduism and Jainism. Lakhs of tourists come here every year to see the natural beauty of Mount Abu. The cool pleasant weather is the biggest feature here.

In the winter season, the temperature here is about 4 to 5 degrees, in the summer season, when other cities of Rajasthan are heating up with heat, even then the temperature of Mount Abu does not exceed 36 degrees, due to which a lot of tourists come here in summer.

Distance from Jaipur to Mount Abu is 500km

Distance from Udaipur to Mount Abu is 170 km

By Train

The closest rail route station to Mount Abu will be Abu Road.  Which is at a distance of 15 km from Mount Abu, apart from trains running from Delhi, Jodhpur, Jaipur, Ajmer, many long-distance trains stop in Abu Road Railway Station.

You get bus and taxi facilities all the time from the railway station.

Trevors Tank


Travels Tank is a well-known tourist place on Mount Abu, which is located at a distance of 5 kilometers from Mount Abu, this place is named after a British engineer.

Earlier this place was known for crocodiles but today this place is a major picnic spot of Mount Abu.

Goumukh Temple


There is an idol of a cow in Gomukh, from whose mouth a stream of water flows continuously, due to which the name here is named Gomukh.

It is believed that Saint Vashisht had performed a yajna at this place. One can also see the statue of the Nandi cow made of white marble in this temple.

Honeymoon Point


Situated at an altitude of about 1220 meters above sea level, this place is located northeast of Lucky Lake. There is a rock here whose shape is like a woman and a man, due to which this place is called Honeymoon Point, where you can enjoy shopping as well as food.

Wild Life Sanctuary

This wildlife sanctuary is very popular among tourists visiting Mount Abu. Built-in 1960, the sanctuary is located in the Aravalli mountain range.

Beyond  820 types of plants can be seen here. Along with being surrounded by greenery, this sanctuary is known for its leopard, wolf, and wild cat.

Achalgarh Fort


It is situated at a distance of 11 km from Mount Abu, completely built by the king of the Parmar dynasty, this fort was renovated by King Rana Kumbha of the Mewar dynasty.

The temple of Achaleshwar Mahadev is also situated on the premises of this fort. It is believed that there is a footprint of Lord Shiva in the rock of this temple. This temple is about 2500 years old.

Mandakini Kund is built in the Aanchalgarh. This kund is 900 wide and 240 feet long.

On the bank of which a huge statue of three buffaloes is built, which people from all over the country and abroad come to see.

Along with this, you can also see a big bronze statue of Lord Shiva’s bull Nandi here.

Peace Park


Peace Park is situated between the two famous places of Mount Abu, Achalgarh and East Shikhar, this park is a mixture of peace and beauty.

Many species of cactus will be found in the garden present here. Along with this, there is also a garden of roses, there are many ideal places to meditate.

Sunset Point


One of the most famous places in mount Abu is sunset point. In the evening, every one of the vacationers of Mount Abu reach here and sit here and enjoys the sunset while looking at the beautiful mountains.

This place becomes a popular place, especially during the summer time.


Guru Shikhar is the highest peak of the Aravalli mountain range, which is located at a distance of 15 km from Mount Abu. Situated at an altitude of 1720 meters above sea level, this place provides the best view of the entire Aravali range. There is also an ancient temple and observatory.

Nakki Lake


Nakki Lake is one of the famous places on Mount Abu. Nakki Lake is the only artificial lake situated at an altitude of 1200 meters. This lake is spread over a radius of about 3 km.

Tourists can also visit the Gandhi Ghat here, which was built in memory of Mahatma Gandhi, in this lake Gandhiji’s ashes were immersed. The lake is surrounded by lush green hills and rows of palm trees.

The lake is quite attractive.  The rocky mountains near the lake provide rock climbing opportunities to the tourists who come here. And tourists can also go boating while enjoying the beautiful scenery here.

At some distance from Nakki Lake, there is a rock named Frog Rock attracting the attention of tourists which naturally looks like a frog shape.

Dilwara Jain mandir


This Jain temple, built in the 11th and 13th centuries, is the most beautiful Jain temple in Rajasthan, this temple made of white marble is famous for its carvings.

Very beautiful carvings have been done on the ceiling of these temples, the chandeliers hanging on the ceiling of the temple and the idols of dancing dancers look very beautiful This temple is a group of 5 temples, which are named after the village of Rajasthan.
