It is a mythical pilgrimage site and it is recognized that while the Chand Raja was going for a fight, he was staying at some distance from the vridh Jageshwar and he had a dream in the night that up in the hill there is an idol and when the king arrived their, he saw Lord Shankar in the form of Pindi.
He pledged that if he won in battle he would give it a grand appearance and after winning the war, he built the temple of Lord Shiva here.
This place is not only a pilgrimage place, but from here you can see the high mountains of the Himalayas, you can see the snow-capped hills of the Himalayas which looks very beautiful.
For the vridh Jageshwar, it is believed that this was the real place of Lord Shiva.
A centuries old cave “Eravat Cave” can also be seen at a distance of 2 kilometers from Jageshwar Dham. It is believed that the elephant Airavat from heaven landed in this cave.
